In over 40 years of practice in Buffalo, serving patients throughout Western New York, we have regularly fielded questions from new patients about what they can expect at their first dental visit at Teach Dental Group..
New patients sometimes fear the worst, worrying that they will need extensive surgery or prolonged treatment from the moment that they meet with us. We strive to ensure that our patients receive enjoyable and effective care during each visit to our office, and in the video below, dentist Mark Teach explains exactly what to expect at your first dental visit at Teach Dental Group.
What To Expect At Your First Dental Visit
At your first dental visit, your dentist will first review your medical history and inspect your mouth to evaluate your overall oral health and determine if there is a need for dental X-rays. The dentist or the hygienist may also examine your mouth to determine if there is evidence of gum disease or related problems that may point to more serious issues like tooth decay, root decay, or bone disease.
We will also examine your jaw to ensure there is no issue with alignment of your bite and jaw, and check your teeth for stains or deposits that may be indicative of bad habits, or more serious problems.
We never force unnecessary treatment plans on our patients, and will always fully explain our findings and answer any questions you may have prior to beginning any treatment.
