A lot of times today, patients are more frequently coming in and asking me, what is bone grafting? The reason for this is because dental treatments are becoming a much more popular method of treatment to replace missing teeth. I talk to them and I explain that bone grafts are a surgical procedure, it’s an outpatient procedure. When they come in, it’s our ability to try and have the patient grow a little bit extra bone in an area that we might need in order to stabilize an implant, or in areas of aesthetics where we might need a little bit of extra bone and tissue to help our overall treatment plan with implants be a success.
